Concrete Apron and Sidewalk Replacement
We were out in Phoenixville this week tearing out and replacing a badly cracked concrete sidewalk section and driveway apron. Tree root growth and heavy seasonal freezing had pushed the old slabs out of alignment, creating an unsafe ledge for pedestrians and scraping the undercarriage of cars turning into the driveway. We saw-cut and removed the damaged concrete, ground down the roots, and brought in a fresh, thoroughly compacted crushed stone base. We reinforced the new section with steel rebar, poured a durable 4,000 PSI concrete mix, and applied a light broom texture for safe, non-slip traction during rain and ice.
