We were out in West Chester this week replacing a deteriorating concrete curb section and pouring an expanded parking pad for a commercial property. Daily traffic and harsh road salts had caused the edge of the original concrete to spall and crumble, breaking down the border of the parking area. We saw-cut the broken curbing, excavated the soft soil beneath, and set heavy-duty forms with a thick aggregate base to handle constant weight. After laying steel rebar for added load strength, we poured a 4,000 PSI high-durability mix and hand-troweled the curbs for a clean, sharp edge that diverts water away from the asphalt.
