We were down in Kennett Square this week fixing up a set of stone steps and a flagstone walkway that had started to come loose. Over time, water had gotten under the mortar joints, causing the stones to shift and lift, creating a trip hazard. We chipped out the old, failing mortar, leveled the stones back into place, and laid down fresh, heavy-duty mortar to lock everything down tight. We finished it up by sealing the joints to keep moisture out and prevent winter freeze-thaw damage from breaking it apart again.
